SUMMER 2018 RECIPES
Sublime simplicity itself. There’s a good reason the Hendrick’s Gin and Tonic, with its
cucumber garnish, is so loved. Poetry in a balloon-style glass.
- 1 part (50mL) Hendrick's Gin
- 3 parts (150mL) tonic water
- 3 thinly sliced rounds of cucumber
Combine all ingredients in a glass filled with cubed ice. Lightly stir and serve. Garnish with 3 thinly sliced rounds of cucumber.
You cannot control the behavior of wasps at a picnic, you can however ensure you have a summer drink as azure in flavor as the summer evening is long. Cucumber Lemonade brims with naughty thoughts for summers yet to be.
- 2 parts (50mL) Hendrick's Gin
- 1 part (20mL) lemon juice
- 1 part (20mL) sugar syrup
- 2 parts (50mL) soda water
- 3 thinly sliced rounds of cucumber
Combine all ingredients in a highball filled with cubed ice. Lightly stir and serve. Garnish with 3 thinly sliced rounds of cucumber & 1 slice of lemon.
SUPERSONIC HENDRICK’S GIN & TONIC
A refreshing twist on the classic Hendrick’s Gin & Tonic, award-winning master mixologist Rich “The Cocktail Guy” Woods invented the Supersonic to include a bracing shot of espresso, which keeps this drink on its high-flying toes.
- 2 parts (50mL) Hendrick’s Gin
- 1/16 parts (1 bar spoon) sugar syrup
- 1 part (25mL) fresh espresso (left to go cold)
- 2 parts (50mL) tonic water
- 3 thinly sliced rounds of cucumber
Combine all ingredients in a highball filled with cubed ice. Lightly stir and serve. Garnish with 3 thinly sliced rounds of cucumber.
The Greyhound can be easily made, even in the blasting madness of a July sun, but it lacks a certain something. That certain something is the flavorsome contrast of a salty rim, once so configured, you have the wickedly naughty Salty Dog.
- 1 part (50mL) Hendrick's Gin
- 2 parts (100mL) pink grapefruit
- 1/4-part (15mL) sugar syrup
- 1 part (50mL) soda water
- Grapefruit wedge
Rim the glass with salt. Combine all ingredients in a highball glass filled with cubed ice. Lightly stir and serve. Garnish with a thin wedge of pink grapefruit.
The Garibaldi is forged from the alliance of Campari from Northern Italy with oranges from the south. Spagliato means 'mistaken' or 'wrong', and you'd be pretty spagliato to miss out on the mesmerizing citric vitality of this Italian masterpiece.
- 1 part (25mL) Hendrick's Gin
- 1 part (25mL) Campari
- 2 parts (50mL) orange juice
- Top with champagne
- Orange wedge
Combine all ingredients in a frozen or chilled highball glass with no ice. Garnish with an orange wedge.
